What the BLEEP opens in the UK

In a whirl of media attention, BLEEP co-writer and producer Betsy Chasse attended a gala special screening of What the BLEEP Do We Know?! in London prior to its nationwide UK theatre release on May 20 th, 2005.

MTV, BBC and SKY TV lined up for interviews with Chasse – all just part of the buzz that preceded its much anticipated opening. Attending the packed preview at the Apollo West End at Lower Regents Street with her husband, Gordon Grobelny, she answered questions, accepted congratulations and enjoyed the first European reaction to the film. “It was a great success,” says Chasse. “Everybody had a blast.”

Product manager Carly Morell of Revolver Entertainment, the UK distributor of the film, said spending hours getting the theatre prepared for the special screening was well worth the trouble and that, not surprisingly, “people left the theatre deep in conversation.”

The movie has inspired the same thoughtful reaction in the English press. Prestigious publications such as The Telegraph, The Independent, Harpers and Queen and Glamour have all explored the phenomenon of how such a “thought-provoking” indy film touting quantum physics as its subject matter has managed to rouse world attention - all from the seeming backwaters of Yelm , Washington in the US.
